Ring 2 is the sequel to Ring that takes place after the incidents of its predecessor, which focuses on Ryuji's girlfriend, Mai Takano, and her search for what happened to Ryuji. Takano's investigation leads her to find out about the secret of the mysterious videotapes, but there is something ominous about Ryuji's son. However, the element of ignorance that helps create the tense atmosphere of sheer terror in the first film is now gone, if the audience has seen Ring. Ring 2 leaves the audience with another phenomenon that is common with sequels--it is does not live up to the quality of the original. |
