BIG SLEEP (1946)

A prominent and prosperous family has a problem with extortion and they hire a private detective, Philip Marlowe (Humphrey Bogart), who  has recently lost his job with the District Attorney.  Phil's investigation regarding the extortion leads him to a murder that seems to involve the family that he represents.  The investigation also seems to surround an employee that is close to the family.  As Phil digs deeper, the lies seems to grow thicker and he finds himself surrounded with crooks and deceit.  Who can he trust?  The Big Sleep is a superb film noir experience where the audience can follow the uncovering of truth regarding the murder.
